Warren County, Kentucky, Deed Book H, 15 Jan 1817, Robert Stewart bought 100 acres of land on Buck Creek, a branch of the Big Barren River, from Jesse Rogers for $250, originally part of a tract entered by Hezekiah Jackson. Witnesses: Daniel Doughty and John Haynes (from Deed Abstracts of Warren County, Kentucky, by Joyce Murray).
That same day, 15 Jan 1817, Robert witnessed a deed from Jesse & Sarah Rogers to John Haynes for the remainder of the 100 acres originally entered by Hezekiah Jackson.

Stewart Clan Magazine, Vol 31, No 7, Jan 1954, Jan 1954 - Stewarts of Barren County, Kentucky - Robert Stewart, born about 1759, probably in Virginia, married Patience _________. He is said to have moved from Virginia to eastern Kentucky after 1785. Later he went to Warren county, Ky., where he was living on Jan. 15, 1817, when be bought of Jesse Rogers for $250, 100 acres of land on Buck creek, a branch of Big Barren river. The witnesses to the deed were Daniel Doughty and John Haynes. This part of Warren county was later included in Barren county by a change in the boundary line. Robert bought Nov. 5, 1819, of Thomas Dobson for $400, 86 1/2 acres on the east side of Big Barren river, adjoining Thomas Owen and Lucy Legrand, the witnesses being Benjamin Martin, John Martin, and Nathan Martin. He sold Nov. 24, 1836, to Jesse Dalton for $60, 30 acres on the waters of Buck creek in Barren county, it being part of the tract on which Stewart was living; the witnesses to the deed were John Beckham and Jeremiah Lutrell. Robert and his wife Patience sold Jan. 26, 1838, to Abraham Legrand of Allen county for $400 the 86 1/2 acres on the east bank of Big Barren which they had bought in 1819 of Thomas Dobson, witnesses to the deed being John H. Owen, Thomas Ritchey and Obadiah W. Legrand. Robert Stewart made his will Sept. 13, 1841, with John Martin and Archer Dickerson as witnesses, and it was probated at the April term of court, 1845, Barren county. He named his wife Patience to be executrix and left her all his property. Patience Stewart sold Sep. 14, 1846, to Isham Lewis for $175 the 80-acre place on Buck creek, which Robert had bought of Jesse Rogers in 1817, the witnesses to her deed being Thomas S. Denton and John Martin. "After her husband's death Patience, when upwards of 80 years old, went from Kentucky on horseback to Coles county, Illinois, with her grandson John Stewart," said Samuel S. Sargent, Charleston, Ill., historian, 1945. "She died in April, 1854, aged 104 years, in Hutton township, Coles county." Robert did not mention any children in his will. Robert married Patience about 1784. Patience was born about 1749 in Virginia. She died in Apr 1854 in Coles County, Illinois. She was buried in Stewart Cemetery, Hutton Township, Coles County, Illinois.

Sargent, 1940s, FHL #7699 - Patience Stewart who is buried at Stewart Cem was grandmother of John Stewart, Sally Stewart who married Rolly Strader & Patience Stewart who married Vincent Strader. John Stewart brought her back to Illinois from Hardin County, Kentucky, on horseback when he was 12 years of age & she was 83 years of age. Robert Stewart who is buried at Stewart Cemetery was brother to above John, Sally & Patience. John Stewart house still standing was rebuilt in 1865 by John Evidently his father had built there, They first lived in a log house when coming to Illinois. The last deer John Stewart killed was in his garden one morning when he got up & he shot it. Most of above information given me by Bob Goble at Salisbury election night Nov. 7, 1944. Also, that John Stewart asked one of the Boyer girls to marry him & she said she didn't want to get married but her younger sister Tilla did, so John asked her & she agreed so they were married - that was Matilda Stewart.
Her grave marker reads - Patience, wife of Robert Stewart, died April 1854, aged about 105 years. She was buried in the Stewart Family Cemetery, Hutton Township, Coles County, Illinois, on a bluff near the center of Section 35, T11N, R10E.
